Mark and Marjorie Allen have been providing antiques to collectors, museums and corporations since 1968. We have always sought to offer high quality objects at fair prices. We are probably best known for tin glazed earthenwares, especially English and Dutch delftware production of the 17th and 18th centuries. With almost one thousand pieces in stock, we are proud to offer the largest and most comprehensive inventory of delftware anywhere. It has been our pleasure to assist in the formation of many museum, corporate and private collections. We are also quite happy to provide that perfect period accent piece to the decorating trade and those who feel most comfortable living with antiques.
Another area of strong interest to us is early metalwork, especially brass, of the 17th and 18th centuries. Our inventory of high quality period metalwork, though not as extensive as our delftware, is certainly the largest and most comprehensive to be found in the Americas.
A fine selection of pre-Federal American period and high style country furniture, paintings, export porcelains and other period accessories can also be found in our comfortable new surroundings.
Our gallery is open by chance or appointment. We are frequently here Tuesday through Saturdays when not at shows or auctions. An appointment is advised, particularly if you are traveling a distance. We make every effort to accommodate client visits at any time. Our new location is easy to reach from Route 93. We are on the way to Lake Winnipesauke and the White Mountains, which have great hiking trails, skiing, and some of the most lovely scenery New Hampshire has to offer. We are also conveniently located right down the road from the Laconia Airport.
Although most of our clients are advanced collectors and institutions, the novice is also most welcome, as we enjoy the opportunity to share our knowledge and provide collecting advice.
Should you not have the opportunity to visit our gallery, please do contact us to discuss your collecting interests. We maintain a sophisticated database, actively attend to our client’s want lists and will efficiently assist in finding and acquiring specific items we do not have in current inventory. We are also pleased to act on behalf of clients, with expert research, advice and assistance in the acquisition of items at auction. All purchases are packed with great care, and can be shipped at your request.
We’re open by chance or appointment and will make every effort to be here when it’s convenient for you. Our location is quite close to the Laconia Airport and two minutes from Lake Winnepesaukee just off Route 11C. (We’re right near Pepi Herrmann Glass). Call us at (603) 644-8989 to arrange a visit.
